What Are Those White Spots On My Cigar

www.smokinghotcigarchick.com In this video I’ll be showing you an AVO Robusto I just picked up today that is covered in white spots. Now for those of you new to cigars, you might be startled to find these white spots on a stogie. But the truth is, this a sign of a cigar that is aging perfectly and being stored correctly. The whites spots, called “plume” or “bloom” are actually the oils from inside the cigar coming to the surface. When the oil dries, it crystallizes into the white spots. Again, a sign of perfect aging and a cigar that is ready to be smoked. Just lightly wipe off the spots and light up. A word of caution: if you see bluish-green spots, then throw the cigar away and clean out your humidor. This is mold and will damage and infect your other sticks. I’ll let you know when I smoke this cigar, probably in the next day or two. As always, ladies, I encourage you to try a fine cigar. It went beautifully with my St Sebastian Grand Cru Belgian Ale. Size is 5.25 x 50 gauge. Wrapper is Connecticut Seed Shade and grown Ecuadorian. Binder and filler are Nicaraguan.
