I really appreciated this book for the photography and the explanation of the manufacturing process. Del Todesco does a great job of walking the reader through the myriad processes of creating a puro. The only thing about this book that left me a little disappointed was the review of cigars in the back. It seems a little difficult to review a cigar in one sentence, especially cigars that are as complex as a Montecristo #2 or a Hoyo de Monterrey…but time and again, he sums up an otherwise world famous cigar as “suitable for a beginner” or “mild, not much to recommend about this cigar”. It just struck me as odd to have a compilation as deep as what is presented in this book and then give the cigars an extremely indifferent and passing glance en masse. The first 130 pages were interesting no matter what level of aficianado you are…the encyclopedia could use a good second edition enhancement.

Although theatres allow the smoking of herbal cigarettes, we could not find herbal cigars and the play required cigars which appeared to be real and burning . The fake cigars worked extremely well and lasted long enough that we have some left for any future productions. In addition we needed fast shipping and the company was extremely helpful in this regard. These cigars were purchased for a stage play. Although theatres allow the smoking of herbal cigarettes, we could not find herbal cigars and the play required cigars which appeared to be real and burning . The fake cigars worked extremely well and lasted long enough that we have some left for any future productions. In addition we needed fast shipping and the company was extremely helpful in this regard. I certainly would recommend them highly.

I like the idea of this cutter – nice end cut but without worries of cutting too far – but am less than impressed. It seemed fine at first, but the blades dulled quickly and it now tears at the cigar cap rather than giving it a nice clean cut. I’d say it gave nice, clean cuts for maybe the first 50 or so cigars. Now I bring it out every time there is guy’s cigar night at my house and no one uses it.
